Susan grew up in Gwinnett County in Snellville, Georgia. She is a true native of Gwinnett County and her parents also grew up in Gwinnett County. Susan attended South Gwinnett High School. After graduating high school, she began working for Gwinnett County as an office manager and later was an administrative secretary for Gwinnett County Planning and Zoning. In 1983 she went to work for the Georgia State Patrol in communications and driver services where she worked for over 8 years. In 1991 she trained and was certified as a licensed private detective. She was co-owner and office manager of Lancaster Information Services, Inc. for 32 years.
